Police arrest underage girls, others during cult initiation for Ogun State




Ogun State Police Command don arrest four underage girls wey their age dey between 10 and 13 along with 13 other suspected cultist when dem dey raid for Mosunmore Village, Abeokuta.





Report talk say na on Monday, 28th of August dem carry out this raid after one of the suspected girls mama go alert Baale of Mosunmore Village.

After dem inform dem police, detectives wey dem attach to Owode-Egba Police Divisional Headquaters, wey Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Shehu Alao lead, start work as dem arrest the suspects when dem dey try initiates another set of girls.

When the state Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, dey yan ontop this matter, he talk say na on Monday around 6:30pm one woman raise the alarm give the Baale near Kobape for Abeokuta ontop sey her pikin comot for house later the day before that day.

The CP say;

"Apparently disturbed by the said outing, the woman pestered her daughter who later confessed that she was initiated into a cult group, a development the woman found difficult to conceal to herself and alerted the community head who, in turn, called in my men.

"Consequently, officers of Owode-Egba Division stormed the area and successfully apprehended the 13 youngsters in the process of initiating yet another set of underaged girls".

All the girls na primary school leavers, and dem confess sey na some group of boys lure them.

The leader of the group wey the name na "Penalty Guys", 19 year old Tunde Adio, narrate sey na one Tosin Initiate am for their arear for January 2017 and say na when dem dey do last easter celebration na em dem give demselves the name when their him third-in-command, 13 year old Adewale Raphael church dey organise one picnic.

As Adio take talk, he say;

"we decided to do customized vests, with the inscription "Penalty Guys". This was what attracted the girls and agreed to be initiated".

Police also arrest Adio second-in-command, Silas Sunday, 15, when dem dey do the raid.

The state commissioner of police don order say make dem transfer the suspects to Anti-Kidnapping and Cultism Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution of the suspects.
