Resident doctors start indefinite strike



Residents doctors wey dey work for government hospitals under the aegis of National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD don announce say dem dey start indefinite strike from September 4th. The doctors announce their strike action fro one statement wey dem release on September 4.



The members of NARDs dey demands fro the resolution of persistent shortfalls and unpaid arrears of salaries wey dem earn for both federal and state tertiary health institutions, the enrollment of resident doctors to the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) since 2003, and non-implementation of adjusted House Officers Entry grade level equivalent since 2014, the resolution of issues around their stagnation of promotion and non-promotion of members wey don meet criteria ontop all collective bargaining agreement and circulars.

Na NARD president, Dr. Onyebueze John sign the statement for Abuja to take announce the strike action.

“Rising from our NEC meeting, which started by 7pm yesterday and ended 3am today. NARD has resolved to reject the promissory offer from Government, and proceed on total and indefinite strike action until all items in her demand list for strike action are resolved by Government.”
