Sokoto State Chief Judge pardon 43 Inmates wey dey await trial

During the week, Chief Judge of Sokoto State, Justice Bello Abbas, grant pardon to 43 inmates wey dey await trial for the state Central Prison. He pardon the inmates when he visited the prison to look the condition of inmates wey don spend several years dey await trial.



The chief judge talk say the gesture na to decongest the prison and to ensure say suspects no stay more than as dem expect when dem dey await trial.

Abbas also promise say dem go soon try the remaining inmates wey dey await trial after dem don join body with all the courts and other related agencies. He promise to continue such exercise from time to time to take ensure sanity in the conduct of justice and to take control the number of inmates in the prison.

On February 8, 2017, he do similar gesture when he grant pardon to 28 awaiting trial inmates.
