Egyptian police arrest seven people because dem raise rainbow flag for concert

Police in Egypt don arrest seven people after dem allege say dem raise rainbow flags for one concert wey dem do for Cairo last week.

Dem don detain the seven people on Monday say dem dey promote sexual deviancy, but dem never charge dem formally. 

According to reports, prosecutors don open investigation after photo from the concert by the Lebanese band Mashrou' Leila - wey their lead singer be gay go viral.

Homosexuality no really dey explicitly criminalised under Egyptian law, but their authorities routinely arrest people wey dem suspect say dey engage for consensual homosexual conduct on charges of "debauchery", "immorality" or "blasphemy".

The raising of the rainbow flag be rare public show of support for the LGBT community for the conservative Muslim country.
